HOW TO MEASURE FOR CURTAINS AND BLINDS

Follow our step-by-step guide on how to measure your windows like a pro!

Step 1

Width measurement: Track

Measure the width of the track from end to end, if you have an overlap arm in the centre of the track add this onto your total measurement.

Step 2

Width measurement: Pole

Measure the width between the two finials at each end of your pole.

Step 3

Length: Pinch/twin/pencil heading on a track

Measure from the top of the track to where you wish the curtains to finish.

Step 4

Length: Pinch/twin/pencil heading on a pole

Measure from the underside of the curtain ring to where you wish the curtains to finish.

Step 5

Length: Eyelet heading on a pole

Measure from the top of the pole to where you wish the curtains to finish, we will add 3cm to the measurement to allow for the Stand up above the Pole.

Step 6

Length: Wave heading

You will need a specialist wave track for these curtains (email/call for details) measure from under the track to where you wish the curtains to finish.

Hint

Hint: Where should my curtains finish?

Floor length curtains are best measured to 1 cm above the floor. We think sill length curtains look best 15 cm below the sill, but this will depend whether you have furniture or a radiator below the window.

Hint

Hint: Uneven floors

Measure your length in three places, we recommend that you choose the shortest measurement. Or add a few cm to the drop so that the curtains puddle on the floor and you disguise the uneven floor.

Hint

Hint: Need extra help?

Measuring can be tricky, if you have questions please call or email us. Remember we will make your curtains using the measurements you give us, so it is always best to double check before sending the information.
